About me

Hello, my name is Billy Armstrong and welcome to my website.

I am a self-employed musician working in and around the North East, specialising in teaching piano, guitar, and music theory. I also enjoy playing for weddings, parties, and other events as a solo pianist, in a duet or with a function band. I guess you could say I enjoy having my fingers in many pies!

I left college with a triple Distinction and two Grade 8 awards in Jazz Piano and Popular Music Theory. I then went on to study at Newcastle University - for a Music degree, of course - and completed a master's degree in the same department, focussing on studio-based composition in popular and electroacoustic music as well as researching music analysis.

For more than 10 years, I have had the privilege to pursue my love of teaching, with one-to-one instrumental lessons, primary and secondary school workshops, and even rock ensemble classes.
