About Me

Hello, my name is Billy Armstrong and welcome to my website.

I am a self-employed musician who works in and around the north-east of England where I specialise in teaching piano, guitar, and music theory. I also delve into the world of performance and enjoy playing for weddings, parties, and every other type of function imaginable. I do this as a solo pianist, a duet and with a function band. I guess you could say that I enjoy having my fingers in many pies!

Billy Graduating

After leaving college with a triple distinction grade and two grade eights in jazz piano and popular music theory, I studied at Newcastle University where I achieved a 2:1 degree (in music of course). Afterwards, I completed a Masters Degree in the same department where I focused on studio based composition in popular and electroacoustic music as well as researching music analysis.

Over the past 10 years I have been lucky enough to pursue my love of teaching in many forms such as one-to-one instrumental lessons, primary and secondary school workshops, and even rock ensemble classes.

Feel free to have a look around my website where you can find blog posts on my latest musical endeavors as well as a collection of all of my music and teaching videos. You can also contact me to discuss my availability for an event or teaching position here.
